Stu Vetter Basketball Camp: Covid Updates (March 15th)

What you Need to Know

  1. Virginia Registration Now Open!
  2. New Format: Smaller Size, Separated by Age, More 1 on 1 Instruction
  3. No Maryland Camps This Year

Dear Parents and Campers,

We are sorry to keep you waiting, but we have some major announcements regarding our 2021 camps. Lets start out with the good news! Registration for our Virginia camps, located at Hoops plus in Sterling, is now open.

Format Change: Safety & Individual Instruction

We will have 2 weeks of camps at Hoops Plus in Sterling Virginia starting on July 19th. Each week will be divided into two sessions. A morning session focused on young campers (ages 7-12*) and an afternoon session focused on older campers (ages 12*-17). Each session will be 3 hours long, each day (M-F), and cost $330. See details below:

Week 1 (July 19th to 23rd)  Week 2 (July 26th to 30th)
Morning: Ages 7-12(9AM-12) – $330Morning: Ages 7-12(9AM-12) – $330
Afternoon: Ages 12-17 (1PM-4) – $330Afternoon: Ages 12-17 (1PM-4) – $330
* 12 Year Olds are Available to Attend all 4 Sessions.

To ensure safety and compliance with all CDC and Virginia Health Department guidelines, each camp will be limited to only 50 participants and there will be no aftercare. This is a much smaller group than in past years, but it will help ensure we are able to meet safety guidelines.  In addition, this gives us a much better instructor / camper ratio, which means more 1 on 1 instruction for each camper.

Room for Development

The breaks between sessions will give us the ability to sanitize the facility and the smaller sessions give us the ability to spread out and work individually with your child.  In addition, we will divide campers into even smaller groups based on age and ability. This year, our youngest campers (7-8 years) will be playing in their own league designed for them to learn basketball fundamentals, AND HAVE FUN!

No Maryland Camps

Unfortunately, we were not able to secure a suitable gym for our Maryland camps.  We will not be hosting camps in Maryland this year but we look forward to heading back to the free state in 2022.

______

We know these are changes from our traditional structure. These updates will allow us to operate safely within the VA Department of Health and CDC guidelines, while also ensuring that your child is getting more individual attention and quality instruction. We look forward to seeing you and getting back to having FUN!
